SOUND+VISION Studio The SOUND+VISION Studio at Lawrence Public Library is a free creation space with an audio/video recor The studio is free to use with your library card.

The SOUND+VISION Studio at Lawrence Public Library includes:

A 3 room audio-visual recording studio complete with electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboard, drum set, microphones, a modular synthesizer, cameras, and lighting. The space is acoustically treated for anyone interested in recording high quality audio or video.

3 small Creative Suites: Suite A for simple audio recording, Suite B f

or video/photo editing and graphic design, and Suite C for visual editing and digitization projects. Suite A includes a 2 channel audio interface and the latest digital audio software. Suite B and C include the full Adobe Creative Cloud and Final Cut Pro. We offer 3-hour reservation blocks. We’ll explore the origins of photography, from the first recorded photo in 1827 to today, as well as how to look at pictures. As legendary American photographer Balthazar Korab once said, “Photography is not about the thing photographed. It is about how that thing looks photographed.”

Our Story

The SOUND+VISION Studio at Lawrence Public Library is a free creation space that includes: -A 3 room professional audio/video recording studio with an iMac computer, multiple software platforms, musical instruments, a modular synthesizer, and a video room with lighting and cameras for filming. The entire space is acoustically treated for anyone interested in recording high quality audio or video. -3 Creative Suites; 1 equipped for audio projects with an iMac and audio software, and 2 equipped for photo/video projects with full access to the Adobe Creative Cloud. The studio is free of charge to use for all of your creative needs. We offer 3-hour reservation blocks.
