It was a beautiful day for the 🍁Fall Festival Triple Show🍁 in Frankfort, KY yesterday!

We had a really great showing of Rex and it was awesome catching up with friends new and old.

I had some really nice comments and placings for a few rabbits this go around and had some good numbers in varieties we usually don't see for extra opportunities to earn legs!

🌟Nugget (castor) took home BOV (out of 6) in all 3 shows and BOB in Show C! These wins should be enough to earn him a GC 😁

⭐Nefeli (PVC broken blue 🤫) won BOV in a large, competitive group of brokens (10+) in Shows A & C

⭐GC Megumi (black otter) went home with a couple BOV wins after a short break from retirement

✨Prada (broken opal) won her class of Sr. Broken Does in all three shows! BUT...
there were not enough in the class to earn her a leg and she wasn't in good enough coat condition to win over Nefeli. This was realistically her last chance to win a senior leg and earn a GC, but I am looking forward to her first litter in a couple weeks!

It was awesome spending time with my friends Brickhouse Rabbitry, Ky's Butt Nuggets & Rabbitry, Wabbit Warriors Wabbitry, Mason's Minis, Sarah, Gabby, and meeting new friends like Hannah with Walker's Graceful Hoppers!

Congrats to Richard with his BIS win in Show B with his white doe Blossom, she's gorgeous!

The next show I'll be heading to is the Harvest Moon night show in Falmouth KY on 10/17 - see y'all there 😊

This weather has been something 🥵 we've made it through summer, false fall, and if we can last a few more days I think we will be out of "hell's front porch" season here in KY. That being said, I've been doing some breeding!

In preparation for mid-October and those glorious mild days and cooler nights I set up some speed dating 🥰

Nugget x Maki - two castor rabbits with a million possibilities! Maki carries self, chocolate, white, dilute, and non-extention. Nugget is an unknown so this breeding is mostly a test breeding to see what he carries but I'm also hoping to see some chinchilla kits instead of himalayans 🙏

GC Megumi x Prada - my black otter buck paired with his broken opal niece is mostly another test breeding for Prada. Megumi carries self, chocolate, white, and non-extention so I'm excited to see what is produced here.

Face x Hibiki - my old broken black boy paired to my young chocolate otter should produce otters and possibly selfs of all shades plus whites if Hibiki carries. Should be a good fur cross as well.

Face x Natasha - this broken black buck paired with a chinchilla doe should produce more chinchillas, possibly chocolate and dilutes of those as well. These breedings will likely be the last ones for him here in my barn - he will be looking for a new herd soon!

Marv (VM) x Penelope (VM) - this striking broken black blue-eyed buck paired with a beautiful black blue-eyed doe should produce my first litter with BEWs! I'm very excited for this cross!

That's FIVE litters 🤯 but I'd be surprised if all of the does take because it's been so hot. I will be trying to palpate everyone to get a better idea of who took and who didn't, but it's not my forte so we will see!

Had a long night but what a night it was!

Amazing Starry Night show last at Northern Kentucky Rabbit Breeders Association with a great group of Rex breeders and friends! It was great to see some folks I don't see too often and it was nice to meet some new friends! Had a good showing of Rex and a lot of nice juniors with potential this fall!

I brought 7 rabbits - 2 seniors and 5 young juniors.

⭐ Nugget won BOV in show A and BOSV in show B (out of 8?)
✨ Hibiki won BOV in show A but only out of 2

Prada got some nice comments but there was just no way she was going to compete against Wabbit Warriors Wabbitry BIS Tempest (broken amber sr doe), who was stunning, and has been for a long while now, huge congrats!

My young juniors got some good comments but they still need their time to mature, 3 of them were 3 months and Hibiki is 4 months.

Congrats to all the winners last night and especially Richard and Grant on their BIS win with Tempest and Geoff Patterson with his RIS win and Grumpy Old Man win with the New Zealand!

Well the Kentucky State Convention in Somerset was a blast! Bourbon was my cute co-pilot on my way down to the show. Met Brickhouse Rabbitry on Friday night to drop off the rabbits in the show hall. Our hotel stay was less than impressive but Saturday was fun!

🌟 Bourbon (broken castor) won BOV (out of 11) in all 3 shows and BOSB in the last show!
⭐ Nugget (castor) won BOV (out of 4) in all 3 shows.
⭐ Hibiki (chocolate otter) is only 12 weeks but she did win a BOV (out of 3) in the last show and got some great comments in the other shows!

🏆 Bourbon was finally able to get ARBA registered and get his GC paperwork sent off. He is out of T-W Face and Salt River Brandy and is my 2nd home-bred rabbit to earn a GC - so proud!

✨ Brickhouse and I brought a ton of babies with us to be evaluated, two litters sired by Bourbon included! I am so grateful for all my friends that looked at them and helped clarify some things and give their opinions, more eyes helps us to not get barn blind, both being too critical or not critical enough of our stock.

I brought 18 kits to the show and only went home with 5 - this is what we mean by cull hard!

🙌 A huge CONGRATS! to Wabbit Warriors Wabbitry on their RIS win for Show A on Friday and their BIS win for Show D on Saturday. Always love to see a Rex win and your rabbits looked amazing - well earned!

The next show I plan on attending will be the Starry Night Show in Falmouth KY on 7/25 💙

👀🏡 MJ, this sweet black otter buck, is looking for a new barn and some ladies of his own!

He has good depth of loin and carries that loin well over the hips into his hindquarter.

He has nice firm muscle and flesh and is going to be a good sized boy - he is 8.25lbs at 5 months old.

He has a good base with strong, well-furred, straight feet.

His shoulder is a bit longer but not weak and he does peak forward. His coat is decent but needs some more density.

He is a sweet guy who comes out of his cage pretty easy and is easy to handle on the table and enjoys pets 🥹

While he will not replace his dad here I do think he has qualities that can benefit a different herd so please reach out with any questions and/or interest!

He will be going with me to the KY State Convention in Somerset KY this weekend if anyone wants to meet or arrange transportation from there.

Hey y'all, serious post. I'm going to be stepping back from this page over the summer.

Nothing bad happened but I just need a break - as we all know, socials can be addictive and it's time to put everything away for a bit.

I won't be breeding until late August/early September. I will be showing a bit this summer so I might make a random post or two about that. Otherwise I'll be off to enjoy my limited social media summer.

Well, we're finished up here in Somerset with all 3 shows - super fast! Bourbon was able to pull out another leg with a BOSB in Show C 😁

Bourbon and Prada won BOV and BOSV respectively in each show but there were not enough in the broken variety for Prada to win any legs. She won't be a senior for another month yet so she still has plenty of opportunities to get her senior leg as well!

Congrats to Wabbit Warriors Wabbitry on their 3 BOB wins with three different littermate white sisters 🙌 good luck in the BISs!

Bourbon got BOSB in Show A here in Somerset to earn his senior leg! Now I can get him registered and start the paperwork...

Bourbon got BOSB in Show A here in Somerset to earn his senior leg! Now I can get him registered and start the paperwork for his GC 😄 very excited for him!

He will be replacing his dad, Face, as my other herd buck and I'm ready to get him to work breeding does this fall!

My first babies from the BEW project 🙌 this sweetheart is the only one that I believe is VM based on the face markings (lack thereof) and the light eyes. I'm not sure if they will be marbled or blue but they seem awful light even for a lilac!

This cross was Face (broken black) to Penelope (VM black) so I don't think this would be anything close to a charlie baby especially because it has nice markings on its back.

What do you all think? VM or just PVC?
