Molly Wooldridge Drives 5 Runners Home In Anderson County Varsity Bearcats Victory Over Spencer County Varsity Lady Bears

Molly Wooldridge drove in five runs on three hits to lead Anderson County Varsity Bearcats past Spencer County Varsity Lady Bears 22-2 on Wednesday. Wooldridge doubled in the second scoring two, doubled in the fourth scoring two, and doubled in the first scoring one.
Anderson County Varsity Bearcats jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Bailey Mitchell tripled, scoring three runs, Wooldridge doubled, scoring one run, and Maddie Glass hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Anderson County Varsity Bearcats scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the second inning. Lacey Osborne drew a walk, scoring one run, Wooldridge doubled, scoring two runs, Faith McGregor doubled, scoring two runs, Glass singled, scoring one run, and Ella Baum singled, scoring one run.
Anderson County Varsity Bearcats added two runs in the third after McGregor singled down the left field line.
Anderson County Varsity Bearcats scored eight runs on eight hits in the top of the fourth inning. Wooldridge doubled, scoring two runs, McGregor singled, scoring one run, Glass singled, scoring one run, Baum singled, scoring one run, Lilly Osborne doubled, scoring one run, Myleigh Beasley singled, scoring one run, and Riley Hobbs singled, scoring one run.
Osborne earned the win for Anderson County Varsity Bearcats. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Addyson Pawul took the loss for Spencer County Varsity Lady Bears. The hurler went one and one-third innings, surrendering 10 runs (nine earned) on seven hits, striking out none and walking two. Sophie Toll collected the save.
Anderson County Varsity Bearcats collected 20 hits in the game. McGregor, Wooldridge, and Liliana Mefford each collected three hits for Anderson County Varsity Bearcats. McGregor and Wooldridge each drove in five runs for Anderson County Varsity Bearcats. Glass, Emma Stevens, and Baum each collected multiple hits for Anderson County Varsity Bearcats. Stevens stole three bases. Anderson County Varsity Bearcats ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.
Lilly Long and Brooklyn Hunt each collected one hit for Spencer County Varsity Lady Bears. Long went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
