Hello Music News readers. I hope you had a great November.
Our cover story for this month features Bi-2. Bi-2, originally from the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic, is making a rare concert tour in America and will be performing at Warehouse Live Midtown on January 8th. We wanted to give you an early heads up on this show because there’s no doubt it will be a sell-out! This band has delivered unforgettable performances at every stop on their tour, and we’re sure their upcoming show at Warehouse Live Midtown will be just as incredible.
And now, a special reminder from Warehouse Live Midtown:
For the time being, Warehouse Live Midtown is offering an additional 10% discount for all Houston Music News readers. That’s right—get an extra 10% off the regular ticket price to a show by using the promo code HOUSTONMUSICNEWS.
Besides Bi-2, Eli & Fur will be presenting a hypnotic dance set at Warehouse Live Midtown this month. We have a story on both of them in this month’s issue of Houston Music News. This is another show you definitely don’t want to miss. You can read all about them in this issue and remember, use the special promo code HOUSTONMUSICNEWS to get a discount on these tickets as well as others.
Now, on to the new issue. As usual, we have some great stories and information to share with you. In this month’s issue, check out stories on Localmania 5, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, and Ghostland Observatory performing at White Oak Music Hall—two more shows you’ll definitely want to see.
Also in this issue are stories on Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mannheim Steamroller, Alex Skolnick, and more.
We also have a ton of great photos of bands performing around the Houston area. I’m sure you’ll recognize many of these names: Amplified Outlaws, Bert Wills, Death Before Decaf, Honey Island Swamp Band, The Band of Heathens, Los Rangerz, Nick Gaitan, Travellin Bros, Steve Krase, Tony Vega, The Octanes, Tyson Webb, In The Aftermath, and more!

FINAL WEEK: Houston Musicians — If You Want Exposure, We Need Your Info NOW

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been asking our Houston bands and musicians to send us their schedules, announcements, and updates so we can feature them in Music News and give them the visibility they deserve. Unfortunately, the response has been shockingly quiet — and we need to be honest here: this is the last week we can include you in the next issue.

For 44 years, Music News (aka Houston Music News) has been dedicated to supporting the Houston music scene. We have fought to give a voice to local musicians long before social media existed, long before streaming controlled our listening habits, and long before algorithms decided who gets heard.

Yet today, the biggest obstacle to promoting local music isn’t lack of talent — Houston is overflowing with world-class musicians — it’s lack of participation and communication. We can’t support you if you don’t send us information.

Here’s the truth that every working musician knows but rarely says out loud:
One Facebook post doesn’t reach the people who need to see it.
Your updates disappear into an endless feed of noise. We see great bands — with thousands of followers — struggling to fill venues. We watch clubs switching to draw-based pay because crowds aren’t showing up. And we hear fans saying, “I didn’t even know they were playing!”

Music News fixes that. Our readership actively seeks out live shows, new releases, and local music coverage. People come to us because they want to discover something new. We are the only publication in Houston — and one of the few in Texas — still committed to promoting local musicians and giving them free exposure to a real audience that cares.

But we cannot feature empty pages. We cannot promote silence.

If you want to be seen — you have to send us your schedules and updates, and you have to do it now.

What We Need This Week (Final Call):
• Show schedules (for December, January and beyond)
• New releases or studio announcements
• Band updates, new members, notable moments
• Photos when available
• Anything related to your musical career

Calling All Houston Musicians: Let's Amplify Your Voice Together!
Today, a reader pointed out something important – they're not seeing enough local Houston music news in Music News aka Houston Music News. They're absolutely right, and we want to change that.
For 44 years, Music News has been dedicated to supporting Houston's music scene. We're here to share your schedules, announce your new releases, cover your recording sessions, and help build your audience. But we need your help to make this happen.
The Reality Check: In the digital age, it's easy to assume that one Facebook post will reach everyone. But with algorithms and information overload, your news often gets lost. We see talented bands with thousands of followers struggling to fill venues. The clubs that pay based on draw know this challenge all too well.
The Opportunity: Music News reaches readers actively looking for local music content – people who want to discover their next favorite band and support the Houston scene. Our calendar listings, features, and news coverage can connect you with audiences beyond your current reach.
How to Get Featured:
Send us your show schedules (the earlier, the better)
Tell us about upcoming releases or recording sessions
Share band updates, member changes, or milestones
Include high-quality photos when possible
Email us at: [email protected]
Make It Easy: Create a simple monthly routine: By the 20th of each month, send us your upcoming schedule and any news. Takes five minutes, reaches thousands.
Remember: Music News has been championing local music since 1982. We want to tell your story, but we need you to share it with us first. The Houston music scene thrives when we work together.
Let's make Houston's music scene impossible to ignore.
