Divine Meeting
Late last night, as I was at the counter paying, Jess (from Tennessee) said, āI like that bracelet, where did you get it?ā
So⦠you know how much I love that question. I gave her the overview of the story to feel her out, seeing if she knew anything about Jesus. I told her I would invest in her if she would listen to my story.
Hereās the kicker: she came to my table at an inconvenient time. She sat down and wanted to hear about the ministry. Wait, what? Iām eating here, woman! Plus, by then, I had my earbuds in, being really worldly, watching Mission Impossible. Seriously, I was.
But as she sat there, I asked her about her story and gave up on the meal. About half an hour later, I discovered that she doesnāt have a great home life and yearns for her parents to know Jesus in a different way. She is the middle child, and some of her siblings were born here while others were born in Thailand. She has so much on her mind and desires to have a close family. Her heart was open, and I could see the Lord working in her.
I eventually got to pray and have a conversation with Jess, who is only 17 years old. I would love to say that I initiated it, like, āHey, can I pray for you?ā But nope⦠she asked me. āWill you pray for me?ā At that moment, I couldnāt help but think, what 17-year-old do I know that would have the guts to ask a total stranger to help her by praying for her? She must be desperate⦠or she must have sensed something. Either way, the Bible is clear that God answers prayer.
After the prayer, we sowed into her life some tools that you helped pay forātools that made her smile and reminded her that she has choices in life.
She is a born-again believer (the best choice already made) but wants to go somewhere other than the Catholic Church her family makes her attend. So, as you agree with us in prayer for her and her familyās lives to be restored to their full potential and for each of her siblings to come into a personal relationship with Christ, remember that she also wants to be a nurse. I told her I could see that in her.
As you say goodbye to March 11, 2025, I want to gently remind each of you that without you guys, none of these individuals that we meetāmyself or any ambassadorāwould be able to share the way we do had you not been obedient in supporting it with your time, talent, or resources. Today is nearly over, so tomorrow we will start again, engaging in each otherās lives and giving them choices.
May God give each of you rest tonightānot clock hours in bed, but true rest from your labors.
Michael
