بدأت المجموعة مسيرتها عام 1979 بإطلاق مجلّة شهريّة مختصّة بتغطية أخبار الإقتصاد و الأعمال في العالم العربي. وتجاوبا مع الاستحسان الكبير الّذي لاقته المجلّة في صفوف رجال الأعمال و القيادات العربيّة و للاستفادة من المجتمع الاقتصادي الذي أسّسته، سعت المجموعة إلى توسيع نطاق عملها لإقامة وتوطيد العلاقات بين روّاد عالم الأعمال إقليميّا و دوليّا.

تتجاوب مؤتمرات الإقتصاد و الأعمال مع احتياجات المنطقة و تعكس خصوصيّتها و واقعها، كما أنّها تشكّل فرصة للالتقاء رجال الأعمال العرب و تبادل خبراتهم وصولا إلى بناء شبكة اتّصال فيما بينهم، مشجّعة بذلك على الاستثمار و النّمو في المنطقة.

تتخذ المجموعة من بيروت مقراً رئيسياً لأعمالها وتتواجد عبر مكاتبها الإقليمية والدولية في كل من باريس والرياض و القاهرة و دبي و الكويت و شمال إفريقيا. In 1979, Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal launched the first issue of a pan-Arab business publication in Arabic language covering regional economic and business news. Gaining a great reputation among business leaders in the Arab world, AIWA group aspired to benefit from this medium and expand its line of endeavors to promote direct ties with regional and international communities. Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal grew gradually to become the leading business communication group in the region, encompassing four publications, event management and conferencing units. Today, the group plays a very important role in the world of business, responding to contemporary needs through hosting regional and country-specific conferences designed to join private companies and policy-makers in promoting investments and development, foster economic ties, and establish a platform for networking and for business expansion. The group’s head office is located in Beirut, Lebanon and is present regionally through its offices in Riyadh, Paris, Dubai, Cairo, Kuwait and North Africa.
