During our scheduled September council meeting, multiple complaints were brought to the council's attention regarding over grown weeds in lawns and broken down vehicles within the village limits.

We will be sending the information soon to all residents regarding the broken down vehicle pick-up - Along with the ordinance regarding broken down vehicles and next steps if they are not taken care of within the time frame allotted.

In addition, the village will send the overgrown grass and weeds ordinance in the mail at the beginning of next spring (council believes this is the most appropriate since we will already be experiencing frost before we know it). Any property that fails to comply within the dates that are listed, will be mowed by the village and billed.

EDIT: As the old saying goes, "No good deed goes left unpunished." The believed assailant contacted the village council on their own behalf - Council members have questioned on more than one occasion who was digging trash out of the recycling bins and leaving it on the building. Well, now we know.

As much as we understand the intentions of doing this, please do not. Bringing trash out of the bins and leaving it on town property, is essentially littering. Removing one problem to create another.

Unfortunately, the cameras were only just activated prior to this recording, so the original dumper of all of this trash, goes free this time. If anyone wants to help the situation - help report anyone that you see using the bins. We will continue to monitor via video as well.

Original Post: These photos are not being posted to promote any hate speech or identifying of the pictured individual - This is being shared as factual evidence of the first illegal dumper caught on camera here in the Village of Leesville.

Again - this is subject to a $500 fine that's been posted on the building for many years. The bags were inspected within minutes of the act and were full of garbage. In addition to these bags there was also a broken shop vac left. Two different village employees had to dispose of the trash.

We just got the news that Leesville was awarded $197,700 for the Rockets Trail!!! 🎉🎉🎉 We are awaiting to hear if we received the TAP Grant as well, fingers crossed!! Our trail will be 100% state funded if so!

The Village of Leesville has just been awarded our PID/Abbreviated Application for the Conotton Valley District PED Crossings!

This will cover crosswalks that were identified as needed by ODOT in the villages of Sherrodsville, Leesville, and Bowerston! Construction will begin in Fall of 2027!
