There was some honest to goodness magic that happened in this video. After we shot the initial parts of the video the producer called me and said he felt like we needed something more, and that's when I got the idea for the best part of the shoot, the hilltop scene. This hilltop is one of my favorite places to film/photograph in the entire world. It feels like a connecting place between Earth and heaven, and the lone tree on the hill somehow adds tremendously to the effect. The weather on the day we filmed this, despite being in late May, was frigid, and an awful chilly wind was blowing, but the conditions were literally picture perfect for the visuals.
My favorite thing about the hilltop scene is that people have asked many times how I captured the transition to the stars. The answer is CGI, but it makes me feel pretty great that people are fooled, even for a second, into thinking it's a genuine image.
