The annual “Bear Hugs for Kids” holiday shopping trip brought together more than 400 Lehi and Skyridge High School students Saturday morning as they paired up with 167 elementary-age children for a day of breakfast, bonding, and Christmas shopping. The 18-year tradition helps Christmas wishes come true for local young children in need.

For two and a half hours, The Ruth in Pleasant Grove transported me to another world. It wasn’t as harsh as ours, and all the news stations were filled with candy-coated dreams and reporters with playful names. “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” was everything I wished for and more. This holiday-time treat made me laugh until my stomach hurt and left me asking how I could make the world a bit sweeter.

On Mon. Dec, 1, mysterious barriers unexpectedly showed up in a Lehi neighborhood near 2175 West. Neighborhood residents were unaware of why the traffic cones, which caused a barrier to traffic, had been installed.

The road where the barriers were installed is a “private road” according to Jeanteil Livingtson, Lehi City Communications Manager.

Athletes from Lehi and Skyridge High School closed out their cross-country seasons on one of the nation’s most challenging stages, the Brooks West Regional Finals at Mt. Sac in Walnut, California, on December 6.

The meet, known for its legendary hills and grueling terrain, brought together top runners from across the expansive West Region, which includes 14 states, U.S. territories, and military installations overseas.
