In terms of road safety, Cameroon is the worst in the world.
I wrote a similar post last year.
●Any high speeding vehicle above limit, the license should be seized for 10 years. If caught hiddenly driving within this period, the person should face 5 years in prison.
● It should be implemented that any driver who causes an accident because of drugs or being drunk should be imprisoned for 5 years.
● Every December if a driver is caught over-speeding, his vehicle should be scraped.
● A ministers job is not only in office. He should do roadside checks personally. If he can't do 200 road safety campaigns a year, he should be sacked.
● Any agency with more than 3 accidents a year should be banned for 6 months and drivers trained from zero.
●Overloaded vehicles should receive a fine of not less than 3 million fcfa. Overloading is one of the major causes of road accidents.
● Heavy duty trucks should not operate during the day in urban settings.(67% of accidents in Cameroon are caused by Trucks)
● Every driver without a firefighting equipment should be fined with at least 100,000 fcfa.
We are talking of human lives here...those who died in Tiko today will never comeback. They are gone forever because of carelessness.
In terms of governance, Cameroon is still at 2%. No brave men to make strong changes in the country.
Tiko had a head-on collision this morning with an oil tanker and only one person from the bus came out alive.
Firefighters 🚒 as we type are not there.
