This is just one example of WHY I wrote the book... this lady's husband recently passed away after being DENIED benefits from the VA - and he was a VA NURSE! This has to stop. I will help her any way that I can.
"My DECEASED husband was at Okinawa (69-71) and Kadena AFB about 71- 73. His MOS was Spec Policeman. He walked the perimeter of the airfields and was exposed to herbicides and C-123 planes. I recently read the VA is "considering" including Okinawa in the service-connected arena. He died from herbicide exposure Diabetes type 3, hypertension, and liver Cancer-related problems. While reading, new info, the VA includes Johnson Atoll near Kadena . Saying Agent Orange went directly to JA and was disposed of. THAT'S A big LIE !!! THAT stuff was STORED at KADENA AFB then transferred to JA for disposal. I sent all kinds of discovery info ( news print) to reveal Kadena AFB had been contaminated for 70 yrs. It also SHOWED people digging up 70 barrels of AO with MONSANTO stripes on partially rusty barrell)along with a claim in 2014 and was DENIED. Finally got a granted service connect starting in 2017. His condition went rapidly downhill about 2012. I'm not giving up. I am requesting an EARLIER EFFECTIVE DATE OF 2011 or 12 to where the started the service connection in 2018.He was sooo very sick. He eventually developed encephalopathy of the brain which rendered him into a dementia type situation (ALTERED MENTAL STATUS). He was a NURSE at The VA in St Louis and I worked in the ER at the same facility. It's SHAMEFUL how they leave Korean Vietnam vets totally out of the loop. I am NOT GIVING UP. I saved all the info sent on the claim . I would like to share but don't know how to do it."
