It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following student on being named to the Fall 2025 President's List. The fall terms run from September to December.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Farmers, researchers and regional leaders gathered in Stoneville on Dec. 11, 2025, for the first in a series of statewide strategy meetings aimed at shaping the Future of Agriculture Resiliency for Mississippi (F.A.R.M.) Strategic Plan, an initiative led by Mississippi Agriculture and Commerce Commissioner Andy Gipson.
Agriculture remains Mississippi’s largest industry and the backbone of many rural communities, Gipson said, but farmers are facing historic pressure from market volatility, rising input costs, labor shortages, health care access challenges, and barriers to entry for young and beginning farmers.

On a clear, autumn-on-the-cusp-of-winter evening in Leland, backyard fire pits glow, and laughter drifts across yards like small, determined stars. Children carry artwork from their classrooms, neighbors linger along Third Street catching up, and storefronts spill warm light onto the sidewalk. Along the highway, rows of white cotton — Delta snow — lie after being sent to the gin, and, for the first time this season, it feels a lot like Christmas.
Across town, families wait with excitement for Christmas on Deer Creek — carols by the tree and the kind of fellowship that fills rooms lit by candles with songs and quiet togetherness.
In this golden light, the story of the year comes into focus: The quiet Leland revolution that builds each day is no longer hypothetical…or quiet. It’s happening — and it depends on all of us.

USDA has announced a new $12 billion bridge-aid package for farmers, with payments expected by Feb. 28, 2026.

Delta Council says the support is welcome — but not enough to make up for three years of steep losses across row-crop country.Up to $11B will go to major crops like corn, soybeans, cotton, rice and wheat. Farmers must file 2025 acreage reports by Dec. 19 to qualify. More details at USDA.gov and in The Leland Progress online click below link. CC #
