There’s always something I am always asked over and over again, “Jacob, how do you make time to do the things that you do?” or “Jacob, aren’t you a little too young to be involved as much as you are in things?”
The truth is, I don’t know how to properly answer those questions. I know one thing for sure, I feel a strong sense of patriotism, especially when it comes to my hometown of Leland, Mississippi.

At the Leland Board of Alderperson’s regular monthly meeting for the month of July, Leigh King and Faith Austin were placed on the agenda on behalf of the Leland Garden Club. King said that the Leland flower bed located at the intersection of Highway 82 and Broad Street is long overdue for a makeover.
The flower bed is one of the attractions that is first seen when you are passing through town on the highway. It is filled with shrubs that spell out “Leland.” The flower bed has since been neglected and is in need of an update. With vines growing over the fence, a torn flag flying on the flag pole, and dying greenery surrounding the shrubs, King and Austin propose a plan on behalf of the Leland Garden Club to bring it back to life.
