Future farmers in the making 🐄💚

On October 17, local Brunswick County 4-H members proudly led six Jersey heifers around the tent at the Brunswick County Agricultural Fair at Stump Hill Farms in Ash. Their smiles said it all — they had successfully completed the Dairy Project.

Through N.C. Cooperative Extension - Brunswick County Center’s Dairy Project, Brunswick County students ages 5 to 18 gain hands-on experience with heifers while building confidence, responsibility, and lifelong skills. Special thanks to Brunswick County 4-H youth development agent Jamie Lester for guiding these students every step of the way.

Join the Town of Leland on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. for the Grand Illumination at the newly updated Founders Park (113 Town Hall Drive). Be among the first to:
🎅 Visit Santa under the brand-new picnic shelter
✨ Stroll dazzling light displays along the multi-use path
🛝 Let the kids explore the updated playground

Leland in Lights will shine through Jan. 4, with Founders Park lit up on the largest scale yet. 💡

👉 Please note: Founders Park remains closed to the public until Dec. 6 while crews finish construction and cleanup. The amphitheater is still under construction and is expected to be complete in late spring 2026.
