Local author spotlight! 📚✨

Leland writer Douglas J. Wood has released his eighth novel, Deadly Bytes, a fast-moving thriller that brings together the FBI, artificial intelligence, crime, control, and a question that feels especially timely: what happens when technology starts thinking beyond us?

The story follows FBI Special Agent Chris DeMeglio as he investigates a brutal case that quickly becomes more complicated than it appears. At the center of the suspense is “Aiden,” an advanced AI system capable of manipulating digital evidence and staying steps ahead of law enforcement.

Wood, an award-winning author of fiction and non-fiction, brings real-world experience to his storytelling after decades as a partner in a global law firm - giving his thrillers a grounded, plausible edge.
