55 hours in the chair. A full back piece completed. And still less than a year into his apprenticeship.

IslandTAT apprentice Tanner Magbanua completed this full back piece after approximately 55 hours of tattooing.

Still under a year into his apprenticeship, Tanner has been consistently putting in the work—studying, practicing, listening, and prioritizing doing things properly over rushing the process.

A piece of this scale requires more than technical skill. It demands patience, consistency, attention to detail, and respect for the craft.

There’s a long road ahead, but the progress is clear. This full back piece reflects Tanner’s dedication and what focused effort can achieve.
