Chapman Recording is Closing After 44 Years!
After 44 years owner, engineer and producer Chuck Chapman is retiring. Our last day will be 11/17/17. The business has been bought by staff engineer Neil Simpson. He is renaming the operation "Simpson Sound Lab" and will be moving to a new mid-town location in the coming weeks.
The phone number will remain the same. After 11/17/17 when you call 913-894-6854 it will ring at Simpson Sound Lab.

I want to thank all of the great musicians, songwriters, voice actors, corporate and agency producers and employees I worked with over the decades. I was lucky to find my passion early and turn that into a life long career. I take fond memories of the thousands of sessions I was involved with from the '70's to now into retirement. Thank you all!

Damon Studios - How times have changed. Back in the 1970's this was the control room layout at the 14th and Wyandotte studios. This was my first pro studio job. If you look down the row of recorders you will see our Ampex AG440 1" tape machine. When I got there we had to stand under a speaker in the ceiling to mix. (Chuck Chapman)
