Saylor Hayes.
Im sure you have heard this horrible story on the news. This little girl, who was Non verbal lost her life here at Pawleys Island, SC. She should have been protected. She should have. Both parents have been arrested.
We love Pawleys Island, and had plans for our labor day vacation.
We Stopped by the roadside memorial in Pawleys Island today for 5-year-old Saylor Hayes.
Visiting the site where flowers, toys, and notes have been left makes the tragedy feel so heavy.
Saylor was visiting the area on vacation with her family when she wandered away from their rental home in the Hagley Estates area.
Because she was a severely nonverbal child with autism who was prone to wandering, her disappearance triggered a massive, multi-agency search involving local first responders, drones, and marine patrols.
Heartbreakingly, searchers later discovered that a Project Lifesaver tracking device she was supposed to be wearing had been left behind at their home in Virginia.
Her body was recovered from the water behind the rental property, and her parents were subsequently apprehended in Tennessee and charged in connection with her death for unlawfully placing a child at risk and abandonment.
They fleed the scene, left the childs body behind, You will get Justice Saylor! Soon we will know for sure.
Seeing this community come together to grieve and honor her memory is powerful, but the whole story is just heartbreaking. Rest in peace, little one. 🤍🕊️
