East Burke women's basketball coaching legend Judy Keever has passed away.

It’s with deep sadness that we share with you that Coach Judy Keever passed away last night. Judy coached the EB Women’s basketball team for 22 years. She led the 1978 and 1980 team to the regional championship games. She was also named Coach of the year. Coach Keever retired in 1996 and left the program with the most wins in team history. She was inducted into EB Hall of fame. Coach had over 20 athletes play at the next level. She still attended most of the teams games and was always a pleasure to see and talk too. She was not only a great coach but someone who I will always consider a mentor and a friend. Rest in peace Coach Keever. We thank you for the hours you spent helping your players become not only better athletes but better people. Job well done Coach!

Cavalier Legend Tyler Shatley becomes the first in school history to have his jersey retired...

Cavaliers Country, we are pleased to share an exciting announcement. On Friday, August 22nd, during our first football game against West Iredell, we will be retiring #43 Tyler Shatley's East Burke Cavalier jersey at halftime. Please join us in honoring Tyler as he celebrates an impressive 11-year career in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars and his outstanding contributions as a member of the Cavalier Community.
We invite all members of Cavaliers Country to come out and celebrate Tyler’s accomplishments. There will be opportunities for photos and to meet Mr. Shatley. We encourage everyone to fill the stands for our home opener next Friday night, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and the jersey retirement ceremony at halftime. Let's come together to show our support and appreciation for Mr. Shatley and his family. Fear the Swords!

⚾️Legion Baseball Southeast Region Update:
On Friday, Area IV & North Carolina State Champion Asheville Post 70 defeated Richland (SC) 3-1. Post 70 then defeated defending American Legion World Series champions Troy (AL) 4-3. Troy has won 2 of the last 3 World Series.

Southeast Regional Final Four today: Richlands vs. Troy at 4:30PM. Jacksonville (FL) vs Asheville Post 70 at 7:30PM. With Asheville at 2-0, they have automatically advanced to Sunday's championship. The winner of the Southeast Regional will advance to the World Series in Shelby, which starts Thursday, August 14. Thanks to James Lunsford & Richard Walker for the updates. Good luck, Post 70!
