A new biopic about the late singer Sinéad O’Connor is officially in development. The film centers on her early life and meteoric rise in music.

The film aims to explore how one young woman from Dublin, Ireland, used her immense talent not only to achieve stardom, but also to challenge powerful institutions—particularly highlighting her outspoken activism against the Catholic Church and the Irish state.

No cast, title, or release timeline has been announced yet, but the project has been in the works since at least the release of the “Nothing Compares” documentary in 2022.

David Byrne firmly stated that Talking Heads are done touring, emphasizing that “you can’t turn the clock back” and that recapturing their past magic is impossible.

He explained that although reuniting in 2023 to promote the Stop Making Sense re-release brought them closer, he felt no urge to tour or record together again.

Byrne also noted that focusing too much on older material risks turning into a “legacy act,” something he wants to avoid.

A 1982 Kramer electric guitar, hand-painted with Eddie Van Halen’s iconic black-and-white stripes and styled like his legendary “Frankenstein” guitar, is heading to auction for the first time this October as part of Sotheby’s “Grails Week.” The guitar is expected to fetch between $2–3 million.

Eddie played this guitar during his 1982–83 tours and it featured prominently in a TV commercial for Kramer. He later gifted it to his guitar tech, Robin “Rudy” Leiren, with a personal inscription. It eventually made its way to Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars, who used it during recordings for their album “Dr. Feelgood”.

The guitar will be showcased for public viewing in Monterey, California, from today (August 13) to August 16, marking its first public appearance in over 40 years.

Her co-star Haywood Nelson (Dwayne) shared the news, calling her a “pragmatic warrior” and “shero.”

Beyond acting, she was also a veterinarian and animal rights advocate. She’ll be remembered for her strength, talent, and heart.

Daryl Hall and John Oates have resolved their dispute over a Hall & Oates business partnership through arbitration, two years after their rift went public in court documents filed in a lawsuit by Hall against Oates.

Attorneys for Hall noted that the case received a final judgment in arbitration and that they filed a proposed order for the judge to dismiss the case.

It's unclear when the arbitration process was finalized. And details were not revealed about the outcome between the musicians who made music together for more than a half-century, including hits in the 1970s and '80s such as "Maneater," "Rich Girl," and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)."

In 2023 filings, Hall accused Oates of blindsiding and betraying him, saying their relationship and his trust in Oates have deteriorated. Oates replied that he was "deeply hurt" that Hall was making "inflammatory, outlandish, and inaccurate statements" about him.
