Great opportunity for the right person.

Looking for the right person to lease the Snowball General Store for the upcoming season! This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to run a small retail spot without starting from scratch.
Season: March–December
Rent: $300/month Message The Old Snowball House
This person could open the store as much as they want, but they must keep Saturdays on the schedule. I would sell all the existing inventory, they would be responsible for the ice machine and soda machine, and pay the electric bill.
This could be a perfect setup for someone dependable, motivated, and ready to run a small-town store for the season! Great way to dip your toes in without a huge commitment.

It has been a mild winter so far in our part of the Ozarks, but that seems to be about to change. How are you going to stay warm?

When I see people posting their gas and electric bills this time of year, it makes me feel good to know that we decided to heat with wood. A couple of bucks for chainsaw gas, bar oil, and a little bit of elbow grease is all it takes to keep us toasty warm year after year.

And the okra has gone feral. It's all we can do to keep up! Are you still gardening or have you quit for the year?

If you've been through our Pastry Shop, you've probably noticed a shelf with some wooden toys on them by Winter Creek Woodworks. These toys, and rolling pins are made by a fellow named Leon Hoffman from Tilly. Leon and his wife, Liz, were friends of my parents, and all the kids of Chimes grew up with his tops and rubber band guns. You've never met a fellow who loved the magic of childhood like Leon does. He genuinely wants to bring a smile to every child's face, and that's why he makes his toys. He has taken his items to craft shows for decades. If a kid comes to his booth and wants a toy, but doesn't have enough money, Leon has a policy of "Well, what's in your pocket?". If the kid wants one of his toys, they're going to leave with one of his toys.

To honor the spirit of this, now through Christmas, we will be running a "Pay What You Can" toy sale on his toys at our Pastry Shop. We will make up the difference of anyone who can't pay the usual asking price so Leon will receive the full profit. All proceeds go straight to Leon, to help he and his wife make it through winter till the craft shows open back up.

There will be limited availability, as Leon is nearing 80 and doesn't move very quick these days, but we will restock as we can. His items are also available online via Etsy, and those paid orders may be given priority if stock runs low. https://www.etsy.com/shop/WinterCreekWoodworks?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=485693679&from_page=listing

Fine print: We reserve the right to limit quantities sold to one person. This applies to toys ONLY, except the Marble Maze. No reservations, first come first serve.
