Hey everyone! It’s Mike.
Hey guess what? I’ve been unable to access Facebook for the past two and a half weeks. I know! I was doing a post on my personal profile (about BFD at ProgStock this October), I hit the “post” button and my account exploded in front of my eyes. (Suspended for advertising, which is what most musicians I know use Facebook for, but it was my turn to face the scythe’s blade I guess.)
Fortunately Scott Chatfield is an admin here on my music page (I’m unable to access this page or anything else Facebooky at the moment), and he’s kindly offered to post this very message so that you’d know why I’ve been quiet here lately. If you felt like sharing this post I would be grateful.
My plan is to more frequently use other avenues that are available to me – in particular keneally dot com, which I’ve had a tendency to neglect in favor of FB. Going to rectify that, so if you want to know what’s up with me, please check out keneally dot com from time to time, and if you really want to stay informed, sign up for the Keneallist email newsletter when you get there.
I’m writing some things for my website about the gigs that are coming up, and I just posted about the show in San Diego at THE HOLDING COMPANY this SUNDAY JUNE 22.
I’ll be playing with BRYAN BELLER, RICK MUSALLAM and NATHAN RANEY. It’s an afternoon gig (doors 1:30), with Nathan’s band and Maedhira opening. Thank you Bar None Productions for promoting this gig. The circumstances surrounding this gig are unique (Nathan will be drumming, and he and I will be playing together for the first time in rehearsal the day before). The playlist is pretty much all ‘90s-era Keneally Klassics, from the first three albums primarily. I’m not providing links here because I’m feeling gun-shy at the moment, but go to keneally dot com for more details and links about the show.
Sunday afternoon on the beach in San Diego getting loose, listening to a bunch of insane guitar prog whatever? Come on.
I’ll shortly be posting on keneally dot com about the PROGJECT WEST COAST TOUR in JULY, and BFD at PROGSTOCK in NEW JERSEY in OCTOBER...and, no details yet, but we are booking additional BFD dates in the period just after ProgStock, covering a range of towns from the East Coast to Chicago. For those of you in those areas who are justifiably bummed that BFD only ever plays in California over and over again, you’ll have your shot in October – details at the website soon, and tell your friends and make them come to these gigs please!
Thank you! Thank you!
Mike
