Happy Release Day to Peter Lakes!!! SUPER proud of this record. Definitely different than the stuff I usually work on, but if the vibe is right and the music is great, I’m all in!!! Peter is a fantastic composer with great vision while also being very open-minded and welcoming of the collaborative process. I had a blast working on this album. I handled the drums and editing, and also co-produced, mixed, and mastered it. It’s a great experience when you’re cooking with fantastic ingredients. Congrats Pete!!! And thank you for trusting me with your art 🙏🤘

Some bands sound great without playing to a click. Fact is though, if someone is going to be editing your song, and all the elements aren’t following the same tempo, it’s gonna be difficult to make it sound right. If that’s what you’re after, the click is your friend.

Why do people call plumbers or electricians when there’s an important issue with their house? Because they know a professional is going to get the job done right. It’s an investment in peace of mind. Why not give that same reverence to your art? What’s more deserving than YOUR music, which will stream forever? Bottom line, making a record is a massive undertaking, and a professional has thousands of hours of experience in how to get it done. They’ll slay the giant FOR you. In 3 years when you stream your record, which do you think will stand the test of time? The DIY record, or the professional one?

Be on the lookout for these snakes. The producers that do it the right way actually DO care about your music and your vision. Think about it, if you have a great experience AND your song ends up better than you imagined, it’s a win for EVERYBODY! I never understood why some producers don’t operate this way. But they’re out there. Talk with the person you’re trusting your art with. Feel their vibe. Listen to your gut. 🤘

Big reamping day today. And we got a some extra gear to play with. Will be blending 2 different amp/cab combos with 4 mics all summed down to 1 track before it goes back into the computer. Big shoutout to my brotha Voley, who owns the (another badass studio on LI). He was gracious enough to send me his Über and a few mics to try out on this tone. So stoked to nerd out on this tone.
