💈✂️ Community over everything.

At just 19 years old, Memphis barber Darnell Wells turned the streets into his barbershop this summer—offering free haircuts to the homeless.

With nothing but a chair, his clippers, and compassion under the hot Memphis sun, Wells gave more than fresh cuts—he gave dignity and care. 🙌🏾

Inspired by his efforts, Zac Sherrod joined in, grilling and serving burgers at his own expense to make sure people left not just groomed, but fed. 🍔❤️

This is what true community looks like.

🌱✨ Ujamaa Farmer Collective Secures $1.25M Grant! ✨🌱

In West Sacramento, the Ujamaa Farmer Collective has received a $1.25 million state grant to help Black farmers secure land and grow their businesses.

Founded in 2021 by Nelson Hawkins, Nathaniel Brown, and Keith Hudson, the collective tackles a major challenge: despite their deep agricultural roots, BIPOC farmers own less than 2% of all U.S. farmland.

“Ujamaa,” meaning extended family in Swahili, reflects the group’s mission of cooperative economics, inclusivity, and community empowerment.
As co-founder Nelson Hawkins shared: “Our goal is to elevate everybody’s potential so we can all thrive.” 🌍💪🏾
