I’m reaching out with something deeply personal and important. My documentary, Echoes of Exile, tells the heartbreaking story of the Acadian Deportations of 1755—an event that tore families apart and caused deep, generational trauma. But this story isn’t just history; it’s happening right now, as countless people are displaced, persecuted, and cast aside simply because they are “other.”

If you believe in telling stories like this, please donate to my project here: https://igg.me/at/beltanefilms/x/2690709 #/

What happened to the Acadians is a painful reminder of the cycles of exclusion and violence that still exist today. This film is more than my family’s history—it’s a call to action, a plea for empathy and understanding in a world that desperately needs it.

I’m asking for your support to help bring this important story to life. Even a small donation of $10 can make a huge difference, especially if all of you come together. Together, we can shine a light on this history and ensure that these voices are heard.

Please consider donating, sharing, and helping spread the word. Your support means everything to me and to the message we all need to hear.

⛵ 1755–1764 – Wanderers: A people in exile for nearly a decade after their deportation, Acadians were unwelcome almost everywhere they went. Deported to the American colonies, France, Britain, and the Caribbean, they found themselves outcasts. Many tried to return to Acadia, only to be turned away, arrested, or forced to keep moving.

Historians call them Les Piétons de l’Atlantique -- “The Wanderers of the Atlantic” -- a wandering people searching for a place to call home. Some hid in the forests of present-day New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, living alongside the Mi’kmaq. Others risked everything to reunite with lost family members.

🚶‍♂️ Exiled, rejected, invisible -- Acadians became ghosts in their own land.
