Play is so much more than fun, it’s how young children explore the world, build confidence, practice problem-solving, strengthen language and social skills, and develop a love of learning. From hands-on centers and creative activities to building, pretending, moving, and making new discoveries, our classrooms are full of meaningful moments that help children grow.

📚 Infant Story Time
It’s never too early to fall in love with books! Story time helps our littlest learners build early language skills, practice listening, explore new sounds, and connect with their teachers. Those tiny eyes taking it all in? That’s learning happening! 🥹💛

⭕ Toddler Circle Time
Our toddlers are learning how to be part of a group, singing songs, listening to stories, practicing new words, following directions, and engaging with their friends and teachers. Circle time may look simple, but SO much development is happening! 🌟

At Pettengill Academy, learning is woven into the everyday moments because little moments lead to BIG growth. 💛

💜 What does learning through play actually look like? 💛

It looks like stacking, exploring, pretending, creating, moving, talking, problem-solving, and sometimes making a really big mess along the way. 😄

To children, it feels like play. To us, we see confidence growing, language developing, motor skills strengthening, and important social-emotional skills taking shape.

At Pettengill Academy, we believe play is learning — and those little everyday moments are building the foundation for some very big things. 🦉✨

Our preschoolers spend their days exploring, creating, problem-solving, building friendships, and developing the skills that will help prepare them for their next big steps.
