When farmers are asked what they do, the phrase "We Grow Things" often comes up. But, as stated by Marc of Arnusch Farms in Colorado, farming is often more than just growing crops. The Arnuch family has made this evident in the unique partnerships they've created, the wheat and barley varieties they continue to help develop and improve, and the supply chain transparency they offer.

Klayton is the fourth generation to farm on the original Lohr Homestead that was homestead in 1910. At Lohr Farms, they view a successful crop year when you can pay off the operating note at the bank and continue on to the next year. Drought has been a harsh reality over the past several years. Last year, Klayton's average, yielded across the entire farm, was a bushel and a half per acre but thanks to wise spending and federal crop insurance he looks forward to carrying on the family tradition.

New episode from the Montana Grain Growers Association:

The Heilig Family came to Moore in 1983 and fell in love with the great climate and weather patterns. Boyd Heilig grows winter wheat, spring wheat and barley. Winter wheat is what pays the bills as it is our bread and butter! With his son returning back to the farm, Boyd looks forward to passing along this Montana way of life to the next generation.
