☘️ Lucky enough to see this from above… and be part of it on the ground. ☘️

I was invited by fellow pilot Bob James to fly The Church Hill Irish Festival in Richmond, VA… and WOW—what a weekend.

This isn’t just a festival… it’s a full-on celebration of Irish culture packed into two days of music, movement, and community.

We’re talking:
🎶 Live Irish bands and traditional music that you can feel in your chest
💃 Dancers that make you question your coordination real quick
🛍️ Local vendors lining the streets with everything from handmade goods to Celtic treasures
🍔 Food that smells so good you’ll follow it like a drone tracking a subject
🍻 And yes… drinks flowing if that’s your thing

Day one gave us sunshine, energy, and a whole lot of smiling faces… and today is shaping up to be just as good 👏

Whether you’re here for the music, the culture, the food—or just an excuse to be outside with good people—this one’s worth it.

There’s something about white cherry blossoms that just feels… timeless.

Right now in Richmond, they’re absolutely showing off — lining a stretch of green grass like nature decided to design its own cathedral.

A brick walkway runs straight down the middle, framed by these soft white blooms reaching overhead… and for a second, it doesn’t even feel like 2026 anymore.

It feels slower. Quieter. Like you’ve stepped into a different time where the only thing on your to-do list is to walk, look up, and take it all in.

As a photographer, these are the moments I chase…
where light, texture, and a little bit of magic all meet in one place.

And trust me… this spot? She understood the assignment 🤍🌸

There’s something about white cherry blossoms that just feels… timeless.

Right now in Richmond, they’re absolutely showing off — lining a stretch of green grass like nature decided to design its own cathedral.

My friend DJ DELO brought the energy to Strangeways Brewing in Fredericksburg, VA and let me tell you… the dance floor did NOT stand a chance.

We got into some line dancing (yes, I participated… no, I will not be taking critiques at this time 🤣), shared a lot of laughs, and just enjoyed one of those nights that fills your cup in the best way.

Today, work brought me to Lake Chesdin—a hidden gem right here in Central Virginia. This 3,100-acre reservoir along the Appomattox River stretches across Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, and Prince George counties. Known for its peaceful shoreline, glassy water (when the wind behaves 😅), and some of the best bass fishing around… but today, it showed off in a different way.

The wind rolled across the lake just enough to catch the sunlight—turning the surface into a field of sparkles. From the ground it was beautiful… but from the air? ✨ unreal.

As a drone pilot, these are the moments I live for. No big production. No long road trip. Just the right light, the right movement, and a reminder that beauty is literally everywhere if you’re paying attention.

Ground to sky… this one felt like magic.

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day 🍀

Last Saturday I found myself right in the heart of Richmond for the 20th anniversary of Shamrock the Block… and let me tell you—this wasn’t just a party, it was a full-on Irish takeover of the city.

For those who haven’t been, Shamrock the Block is one of Richmond’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Streets shut down, live bands take over multiple stages, food vendors line the block, and thousands of people show up dressed head-to-toe in green ready to celebrate, dance, and just soak in the energy.

And the energy?
Absolutely unmatched.

From the music pulsing through the streets…
to strangers becoming friends over a drink…
to the kind of laughter you can feel through your camera lens…

This is the kind of event that reminds me why I do what I do.

Moments like these—raw, real, a little chaotic, and completely full of life—are meant to be captured.

Last Saturday I found myself right in the heart of Richmond for the 20th anniversary of Shamrock the Block… and let me tell you—this wasn’t just a party, it was a full-on Irish takeover of the city.

Drone Pilots in the Wild… from the sky I saw 📸🚁

There’s a moment…
right after takeoff—
when everything shifts.

The noise fades.
The ground feels smaller.
And the sky opens up just a little wider.

Not just the drones carving quiet paths through the air—
but the way each one carried a piece of its pilot with it.

Tiny aircraft…
floating against endless blue…
chasing light, lines, and perspective.

Fredericksburg gave us the canvas—
river bends, bridges, open sky—

but what filled it…
was intention.

Every movement deliberate.
Every frame imagined before it was ever captured.

And somewhere between ground and sky…
that’s where the magic lives.
