In Lexington, KY, trick-or-treating is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2025.

The Lexington-Fayette County Public Health Department advises parents to accompany children under 12, use sidewalks and crosswalks, and only visit well-lit houses that are clearly participating in the festivities.

Safety advice:
Children under 12 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Use sidewalks and crosswalks at all times.

Only visit houses with their porch lights on.
Be aware of increased traffic, and remember to look for children crossing streets.

Other events: The city of Lexington is hosting various Halloween-themed events leading up to and on Halloween night, such as a Trunk-or-Treat at the Castlewood Community Center from 6–7:30 p.m. and a "Treat or Trick" event at the Kenwick Community Center.

Good evening,

In response to the unanimous request from the school board to develop a request for proposal (RFP) for an external, independent audit, the board's Audit Committee presented an extensive scope of work. It focuses on a comprehensive review across three main areas to improve financial governance, compliance, and risk management. The board approved the RFP and will receive a recommendation next month for an external firm to conduct this work.

Please see attached press release and the full scope of work approved tonight.
