I get a lot of questions about setting up shots. Some people love the curated, cinematic look, and others want everything to unfold naturally. My take? You don’t need staged moments to create a beautiful, meaningful wedding film. I never push for posed or overly directed shots because they’re not the priority of the day. But if a natural opportunity presents itself, I’ll always take it. I’d rather have that footage and not need it than wish I’d captured it later. If a couple wants to stay fully in the moment, I’m all in. And if they prefer a bit of creative direction, I can absolutely lean into that too. At the end of the day, my goal is to capture their wedding in a way that feels authentic to them.
