Bluegrass Youth Ballet is excited to bring the original ballet, Día de los Mu***os, back to the stage on Thursday, October 30 and Saturday, November 1 at the Lexington Opera House.

Día de los Mu***os—the Day of the Dead—is a festive celebration in memory of those who have died. Assured that the dead would be insulted by mourning or sadness, Día de los Mu***os celebrates the lives of the deceased with food, drink, parties, and activities that the deceased enjoyed in life. Although marked throughout Latin America, Día de los Mu***os is most strongly associated with Mexico, where the tradition originated.

It’s been a busy few months over here at Neighbors Immigration Clinic. On top of all of the work we do representing our immigrant neighbors and protecting their rights, we gathered our board members together for a strategic planning session, hosted and co-hosted fundraisers, and launched our hotline where folks can report ICE sightings.

On this last day of Latine Heritage Month, you can honor the vibrant cultures and contributions of Latinx communities in simple, meaningful ways:
- Learn and Share: Read books, watch films, or listen to podcasts by Latinx creators and share what you learn with friends.
- Support Latinx Voices: Shop at Latinx-owned businesses, enjoy Latin American art and music, or attend a local cultural event.
- Give back: Make a gift to Neighbors Immigration Clinic to help us continue providing legal support and advocacy to immigrant and Latinx communities.
