5:00 AM at Keeneland. 🌅
The Sallee Horse Vans rolled in carrying some very special cargo from Saratoga after an unforgettable Belmont Stakes weekend.
Stepping off the van was Englishman, owned by CRK Stable, fresh off a breathtaking victory in the Grade 1 Woody Stephens Stakes. Under Jose Ortiz, the talented c**t stopped the clock in 1:20.40 for seven furlongs, matching a Saratoga track record that had stood for nearly 40 years. It was a performance that firmly established Englishman as one of the most exciting 3-year-olds in training.
Trained by Cherie DeVaux, Englishman wasn’t the only star making the trip back to Kentucky. Also aboard was stablemate Golden Tempo, campaigned by Phipps Stable and St. Elias Stable, following a historic season that included victories in both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. With those wins, DeVaux became the first woman to train multiple Triple Crown race winners.
There’s something special about watching a horse step off the van at sunrise knowing they just delivered a career-defining performance on one of racing’s biggest stages.
Welcome home, Englishman. 🐎✨
