This week for Local Legend Wednesday, we’re celebrating one of Liberal’s treasures — Dorothy’s House! 💫
The idea began with Max Zimmerman, and through the dedication of Oliver Brown and the trustees of the Seward County Historical Society, that dream became a reality.
Built in 1907 and donated by the Robert Rice family, the home became the heart of the Oz experience right here in Liberal. The Governor of Kansas even issued a proclamation naming Dorothy’s House the gateway to the Land of Oz — the entrance to fantasy, fun, and the good life in Kansas! 🌈🏠
And this weekend, you can experience a little time-travel magic of your own! Don’t miss the “In Time” Special Interactive Performance & Scavenger Hunt at Dorothy's House and Coronado Museum.
