📷 Flock Safety Camera Update

Following discussion and public input at previous meetings, Liberty Hill City Council voted unanimously, 7-0, to end the City’s use of Flock Safety automated license plate recognition cameras.

As a result of the vote:

➡️ The City will not renew its agreement with Flock Safety when it expires in October.

➡️ All cameras under the City of Liberty Hill’s Flock camera program were removed by City staff on September 15. The poles will be removed at a later date.

➡️ Council directed that the City not use technology in the future for the purpose of mass surveillance.

The decision applies specifically to the City’s Flock camera program. Cameras operated by private entities or other governmental agencies are not under the City’s jurisdiction and are not included in the City’s action.
