David Rives is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.S., Cellular Biology), where he also attended Medical School, before moving to California to continue the research that has resulted in the Walk Yourself Fit Program. Rives discovered his passion for writing early in life. He initially developed the concept for his upcoming children’s book, The Discontented Rabbit< around the age of seven.

Today, he continues to enjoy the writing process and emphasizes the importance of word choice, as stated in Mark Twain’s famous quote: "...the difference between the right word and almost the right word is the difference between a lightning bug and lightning". When he’s not writing books, Mr. Rives reads them, for the nationwide organization: Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, Inc., headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey. Last, but certainly not least, Mr. Rives is a former fatty who managed to Walk Himself Fit and knows that you can too!
