In celebration of America’s 250th birthday in 2026, the city of Liberty invited local students in grades 6 to 12 to participate in a communitywide celebration of creativity and civic pride, according to city information. Students entered the art contest, the essay contest, or both, explored the theme “What Does Liberty Mean to You?”

The Warehouse, a local trading card store, 2101 Kara Court Suite A, was robbed during the early morning hours of June 1. Capt. Nathan Mulch, the department public information officer, said the store owner is still doing inventory on what was taken. Detectives are asking the community to be aware of any attempt to sell rare or high-value trading cards. Mulch said the investigation is ongoing, but he hopes the community will help them out by either calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477) or the Liberty Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit at 816-439-4730.
