REMINDER: The Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission (VBHRC) will be hosting a community forum, Community Conversations: Affordable Housing on Saturday, February 21 from 2 – 4:30 p.m. at Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, 4100 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
The following community leaders and organizers will participate in a panel discussion on the issues surrounding housing needs and affordability:
Melissa Bonfiglio - Deputy Director & Director of Litigation for Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia.
Gustavo Espinosa – Senior Organizer and Policy Advocate for the Legal Aid Justice Center.
Victor Leite - Chief Executive Officer of Dwell, a workforce and attainable housing provider serving the Hampton Roads region.
Chandler Motley - Transit Planner, Hampton Roads Transit.
Sharon Shoff - Housing Development Manager for the Department of Housing and Neighborhood Preservation in the Development Division.
Following the panel discussion, representatives from various organizations will be on hand to share information on resources available and opportunities to get involved with your community.
