My favorite hibiscus blew over in the hurricane. It’s the one that has the colors of a sunrise in it. I was sad to see this. I’m going to try to start a new plant with some cuttings.

We spent the morning cleaning up debris from our yard. And trying to save as many trees and plants as possible.

We’re still getting some strong gusts of wind. But, nothing like the storm.

My family and I are ok. House is good. Yard is a mess! We got lucky as many of our neighbors in Lihue have damage to their roofs and broken windows.

Here’s the latest alert we’ve received.

I wanted to let you all know that I’m safe at home with my family. We’re on higher ground and are in no danger of flooding.

The store I work at closed early. Pretty much everything is shut down.

Driving home I saw quite a few homes boarded up. Folks are taking this hurricane seriously. Though I did meet some visitors today that seemed to be unaware. 😬

I was sleeping. 😬 Hurricane Lowell will pass by us this evening. It hasn’t stopped raining since last night. I had a difficult time getting back to sleep after the emergency alert alarm on my phone went off.

Time to pour myself a “cup of ambition” and get ready to go to my paying job. Should be an interesting day.

I’ll keep you all up to date on conditions as I’m able to.

Laundry room is looking like a green house!😂 I threw an old towel over our washer and put some of our plants on it, mostly veggies and herbs. There’s more plants on the floor. All stuff that I don’t want blowing around in a hurricane. How’s your weekend going?
