When I awoke this morning, it was 28° down here on the Gulf. That is not OK. I am literally in my home wearing an overcoat. Which makes me appreciate central heat and a roof and a warm home.
Many had to sleep under a bridge last night or on sidewalks. I had planned to ask for more blankets but we have so many now that it will take all of our time left here to hand them out in downtown Pensacola and again later this week in downtown Athens, Ga. If you have old blankets caps, gloves, things like that around your house, take a walk in the downtown area where you live and simply hand them out to those less fortunate.
