While we are in a lull right now, the atmosphere is recharging. Latest analysis is showing 5,000 to 6,000 Joules per Kilogram of Convective Available Potential Energy Accumulated over the Greater Lima Region, which is extremely sufficient for thunderstorms. Additionally, I am seeing evidence of a subtle mid-level disturbance moving through northern Illinois that could aid in the forcing for those thunderstorms. We also have the stationary front located over us, and there is no shortage of moisture. Wind shear will also increase as the evening progresses.

Timing of any storms remains the question mark, but the potential is certainly there. I will monitor and update!
