Had a wonderful day in Letlhakane/zowa.
One of my boys......
The boy had a challenge in spelling and sentence constructions.
So this is how you train them in spelling and sentence constructions.......
Make some reading charts for the following:
1.Home vocabulary words
2.school vocabulary words
3.verbs vocabulary words
4.Adjectives vocabulary words
5.Adverbs vocabulary words
6.Preposition vocabulary words
7.Proper and common nouns
You will be aware that the above vocabulary the child uses it in writing at school on daily basis
Let the child practice reading and be familiar with all the above vocabulary.........
And you make a routine schedule as follows........
First:
🔵You do spelling 10 items u can choose words from the above vocabulary chart....
🔵From the spelling you did do sentence construction with each word
When marking the sentence construction make sure you mark word by word and each word the child got wrong, help the child to do corrections not writing the whole sentence but the word he got wrong.
Then from that correction use those words to construct sentences for each word, this will go on and on and on.......
You will keep going thru those vocabulary charts......
Another strategy you do picture sentence construction........
Look for pictures let the child describe what is happening in the picture.........
As the child constructing sentences, make sure the sentences is rich and full of parts of speech, the sentence should have atlest 2 to three parts of speech, this trains them to come write a very nice and creative composition....
Make sure the following are being taken note of as the child construct sentences:
1.Capital letters where appropriate (at the beginning of the sentence, names of people, places and countries)
2.Pantuation marks where appropriate( help them to construct sentences that caters for other pantuation marks like , ? ! . " ")
3.The use of descriptive words ( verbs)
4.The use of Adjectives, adverbs and Prepositions
This practice applies to both languages Setswana and English.
Let the struggle go on my beautiful batho ba le ba ratang.................
A e goroge thuto kwa malwapeng betsho.
