The Wandertogs Scott Erb and Donna Dufault AKA The Wandertogs or Wandering Photographers. Then I uttering those fateful words: “Let's sell everything and just go."

We photograph and explore as we travel across America, follow our journey and see the adventures. It all began with “Can we talk?” moment with Scotty who was sitting in the living room of our beautiful home. A deep desire for travel had always lingered within us since the day we got married. SO, after covid almost killed our photography business, especially our food and hospitality work, we knew w

e needed to pivot. To reinvent ourselves. We’re Scott and Donna and we took the plunge, selling everything. Yes, everything. Now, after a full year of dwelling in our new home on wheels, we are just beginning to taste the sweetness of living out our lifelong dream. The path ahead was strewn with challenges, selling the house and all our stuff was just the start. We blew up our lives. We bade a sad goodbye to a business we had meticulously crafted over decades! And said a farewell to cherished friends. All who stood by us through thick and thin. It was profoundly challenging. The trials and tribulations of life on the road have been undeniably real. Getting Vanny stuck in a river bed where we had no cell service. To Donna falling off a tall rock at City of Rocks in New Mexico and injuring her right leg. Along the way, we have taken photos of everything. We are creating new art projects and portfolios. We are beating back that big empty hole in our hearts that was feeling overwhelming and desperate. We are feeling alive again. We are feeling strong. We most of all, are feeling creative.

Spent the day hiking around Shoshone Falls in Idaho. I have to say, it’s one of the most beautiful locations I’ve been to. The water was so clean and crisp. It was around 100 degrees and after our hike, we took a dip in the water. It was freezing cold, but so refreshing! Cooled me down instantly. We then retired to our dispersed camp spot near the Snake River Canyon. Not far from where Evil Knievel jumped his Skycycle X-2. motorcycle. We met some new friends Lisa and John on the trail. They were so great. We chatted or at least an hour about all of our adventures! I call this “trail magic”. Meeting like minded people and just reveling in all the amazing places we all have had the opportunity to visit. Happy travels new friends!!

While at Devils Tower in WY we meet an Alien, a few park rangers with out much of a sense of humor and hiked around the rock seeing it from every angle. And at the end of the day...We also found a nice piece of BLM to land our Vannie for the night among a field of stunning wild sunflowers. It was a good day.

There are moments on the road that feel like a small reward for paying attention.

This was one of them. I mean look at this...

We found this cactus in Big Bend National Park and were honestly amazed by the color. That purple, those long spines, the whole shape of it against the sky. It felt sharp and delicate at the same time. We loved it enough to stand there awhile and just look before making the photo.

Travel keeps teaching us that beauty is not always where you expect it. Yea!!!

This is an impressive arch. Quite large. Shiny in this cloudless blue sky.

It was a little overcast the day we rolled into Carmel but that never stops us from checking out the town, eating yummy things and exploring the local beaches and galleries.
