😎😎Extra, Extra, Read All About It! Special Friday Daily Dose of Hummingbird Happiness by Barbara VanMatre😎😎 Hummer Charm, I am so happy to report that the Buff-bellied male with the injured beak is healing! I spoke to a bird rehabber on Sunday and showed her pictures. She said it looked like he had caught his beak in something causing the injury and the keratin sticking up on top of the beak would eventually fall off. Well yesterday when he came to the feeders he was looking good. His beak is almost normal. He still has a small white area where the injury was but I heard him click, chatter and sing and it was music to my ears. Besides visiting his favorite feeder in the backyard, I even photographed him in the Crape Myrtles. The first five photos were taken two days ago when he still looked injured. The last several photos were taken yesterday and HOORAY!!!!! he looks great. I’ve already seen him today as well. I have prayed for this hummingbird and prayers have been answered. Thank you God, and all the Angels and Saints for protecting and healing this little beauty. Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint of all animals, you probably got tired of hearing from me. Buff-bellied male is going to be OK! 🙏🙏😎😎Corpus Christi, Texas 7-25-25

We live in Ocean Beach San Diego and the fountain was the centerpiece of our newly remodeled property. All the birds Absolutely love it and come to take baths all day long. The hummingbirds especially and don't mind us being close to them. Such a treat for us!

😎Daily Dose of Hummingbird Happiness by Barbara VanMatre 😎😎 Hi there Hummer Charm! Have you ever seen your hummingbirds interacting with other birds? There are hummingbirds so curious about other birds that they fly right up to them to check them out or are they just trying to see who’s on “their” feeder? I have also seen hummingbirds checking out the lizards. Whatever the case, these hummers got caught feeding with Golden-fronted Woodpeckers and Hooded Orioles who also like sweet nectar. I guess they know what birds won’t harm them or they’re just too hungry to care. I’ve never seen any of these birds attack or try to scare away the hummingbirds. Perhaps Orioles, Woodpeckers and Hummingbirds have a peace treaty between them and they’re all sticking to it! All in all it’s fun to watch this behavior. If you have photos of hummingbirds interacting with other birds please post them in the comments. Have a great Thursday everyone!😎😎 Corpus Christi, Texas 7-24-25

Hi, it’s me and my husband living outside of Hershey PA. Mid July. Enjoying a beautiful evening on the deck listening to music and conversation. Of course always enjoying the visits from our hummers. They have been very active this season. We love them.
