Yesterday marked a new chapter for our business. No, I'm sorry. We're not relaunching the BVD. But we have launched the Blackfoot Valley Advertiser. It's a simple four-page advertising publication that we're distributing around town for free, on a monthly basis.
About a year ago it was brought to our attention that, following the loss of the BVD, many businesses needed a local advertising platform, other than online advertising or flyers on bulletin boards. We still have a printing business and our BVD ad library, so a local advertiser seemed like something we could handle without diving back into a full-on newspaper.
The primary focus of the Blackfoot Valley Advertiser will obviously be advertising for small local businesses, bit will also include bit of trivia, random facts and local history to give people something to read. In the future we may also slip in short press releases, announcements or information that we feel are important to the community if we can.
We've always felt that good, old-fashioned print advertising is still among the best ways to tell people who you are and what you do, so thank you to all the businesses who took the leap with us to get this off the ground.
And thanks in advance to all the people who will patronize those businesses. Let them know you saw them in the Blackfoot Valley Advertiser.
