‘Don’t have the data yet’: Experts say it’s too soon to know if Nebraska permitless carry law contributed to dip in violent crime.

Nebraska Crime Commission Executive Director Brian Tuma noted around an 8% decline in violent crime across the state from 2023 to 2024. This includes a 7.9% decrease in areas with populations that range from 100,000 to 399,999, a 9.9% decrease in populations that range from 5,000 to 99,999 and a 25.4% decrease in populations 4,999 and under.
