Who will actually be caring for Mom or Dad?

When touring a senior living community, don’t just look at the building, dining room, or amenities.

Pay attention to the people providing the care.

Ask:
• What is the staff-to-resident ratio?
• How are caregivers trained?
• Is staffing consistent, or is there frequent turnover?
• Who is available overnight and on weekends?
• How are emergencies handled?
• Do residents seem comfortable, engaged, and well cared for?

The right community is about more than where Mom or Dad lives.

It’s about who will be there for them every day.

Before choosing a senior living community, ask:

“What level of care is available — and can it grow with Mom or Dad’s needs?”

A community may be a great fit today, but needs can change quickly.

Ask:
• What care levels are available?
• Can additional care be added without moving?
• What happens if memory care is needed later?
• How much do higher care levels cost?

Planning ahead can help avoid another stressful move later.
