Today is a huge day for Brickline Motion Pictures!

Please help us congratulate Joe and Gordon on graduating from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln through the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts.

Joe, our DP and co-founder, has helped shape the visual identity of our projects from the very beginning. His eye for storytelling, composition, and atmosphere continues to elevate every production we create.

Gordon has become an essential part of our team as our sound mixer, sound editor, and composer, bringing an incredible level of detail, emotion, and immersion to our films through sound and music.

Independent filmmaking is built on passionate artists who are willing to dedicate themselves fully to the craft, and these two embody exactly that.

We are proud of everything they have accomplished and excited for everything still ahead.

Ran into some familiar faces at NAB.

Zach and Zach from zzgripelectric made the trip out from LA to hang out with us.

They came through the film program that eventually became the Johnny Carson Center for EMA and have since built a strong grip and electric business in Los Angeles. Always good to see people from Nebraska making moves at that level.

We also got to spend time with Professor Rick Endacott as he wraps up his final semester at the Carson Center.

If you’ve been through the program, you know the impact he’s had.

Good way to close out the trip.

NAB 2026 — wrap up

Wrapping up our time at NAB.

One of the biggest moments for us was seeing the custom Atlas IMAX lenses used on the latest Dune films.

Not replicas.
The actual lenses developed alongside Denis Villeneuve and cinematographer Linus Sandgren.

These are custom spherical IMAX lenses built specifically for that look. Seeing them up close, you start to understand how much intention goes into shaping an image at that level.

From there, we spent time digging into lenses and audio across the floor.

SIRUI is continuing to build out their IronStar anamorphic line with new 75mm, 100mm, and 135mm options.

SIRUI used to get written off as a budget option. That’s not really the case anymore. The build quality, consistency, and overall look have improved a lot. These are becoming serious lenses, and you can tell they’re getting better with every iteration.

The 100mm being a macro stood out. That’s rare in anamorphic and opens up some creative possibilities you don’t usually get.

We also spent time looking at Kinefinity.

They’ve been flying under the radar, but the cameras and rigs are starting to feel a lot more complete. Better build quality, better ergonomics, and setups that feel closer to something you can take straight onto a working set without having to rebuild everything.

On the audio side, Deity is making a strong push.

We got a close look at their new THEOS system. Dual-channel wideband UHF with 32-bit float built directly into the transmitters. That solves a lot of real-world problems when things don’t go perfectly on set.

Also checked out the PR-4 before release.
Six tracks in a pocket-sized recorder, clearly built for more complex setups.

Even small things mattered. Azden had new braided cables on display that aren’t out yet. Better durability, cleaner signal… the kind of upgrade boom operators actually rely on.

Stepping back, the biggest takeaway from NAB this year:

Cleaner systems. More reliable setups. Less time troubleshooting.

Good trip.

Back to work. Production meetings this weekend for Inspired!

Day two at NAB 2026.

Today was all

The URSA Cine Immersive is one of the most interesting cameras we’ve seen. Built for immersive viewing, and paired with Apple Vision Pro, it’s a completely different way to experience film. It actually puts you inside the scene.

Fairlight Live stood out too. For live productions, this opens up a lot more control over audio in real time.

DaVinci Resolve 21 stepping into photo editing is a big move. With free access, it’s a real competitor to Lightroom, and keeping everything inside one system makes a lot of sense.

What impressed us most was how they handled the demo.

Every camera was set up in a fully lit scene with real talent and environments. It felt like a working set, not a showroom.

More tomorrow.

Day one at NAB 2026.

Joseph and Gordon from Brickline Motion Pictures are in Vegas checking out the newest tech for filmmakers and creators.

Vegas is chaos, but the floor is where things get real.

We spent the day digging into gear that actually matters for indie productions.

Tilta’s car rigs stood out. If they hold up, that’s a real alternative to process trailers on certain shoots.

Kupo’s new grip gear is built for speed. Simple solutions that save time on set.

We also checked out the new RØDE Link II. This solves a lot of the audio problems indie productions run into without blowing the budget.

Highlight of day one was the Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55. That camera feels like a shift.

We also sat in on a workshop with Christopher Probst, ASC, focused on cinematography in this new wave of virtual production and AI-driven workflows.

There was a lot of talk around AI, automation, and where things are headed.

But what stood out was this…

A lot of these tools are taking care of the things filmmakers don’t want to fight with.

For example, in virtual production, AI can help blend actors into environments more naturally. Less time fixing technical gaps, more time focusing on performance and story.

Story comes first. People come first.

Everything else should support that.

If there’s anything you want us to check out while we’re here, send us a message. We’ll do our best to get eyes on it.

More tomorrow.
