Illuminate the outside of the pumpkin – daylight is fine – or it might get lost in the translation to newsprint. You needn’t light the lantern from the inside, but that’s fine too. Ideally, shoot against a plain backdrop and close to eye level, not from above. Low-resolution images might not work in print. Include your full name with the file, for credit, and send it to [email protected] by Oct. 23.
