Ashley said the plants on the hilltop entranced them. They also found a family of horned lizards, also called h***y toads, for bodies much broader than a typical lizard.

Although much of the region was drier than normal, the reporting station 3 miles east of Lindsborg recorded 5.97 inches of rain in May, 30 percent more than the normal amount of 4.58 inches.
