1 am Appreciation Post :: to one of our Miner Pride Sponsors - Greene County General Hospital
Today, around 3 pm I started to experience terrible right side pain. So much so, I could hardly stand up.
We went on as planned to live stream tonight’s home opener. Many of you saw me get up in between games (this is very rare) and starting sending messages asking if I was ok.
At the end of the game, it was progressively worse. I talked with Jodi Sullivan and Heidi Rehmel after the game. Jodi was so kind in helping Kevin and I load things to our car (so I didn’t have to lift anything). She also reached out to GCGH to see waiting times in the ER (as we are trying to keep any germs at bay).
Got home. Talked again with Corianne (whom I had talked off/on to since 3:30). She said to trust my gut and either wait it out until tomorrow am, or go to ER tonight.
Kevin said we were going tonight. I was checked in within five minutes (by BFranklkn). In a room, blood drawn, Dr Worley in within 10 minutes. From BP and temp checks, to CTscan, and diagnosis — all were top notch.
The longest I waited, for anything, were the scan results and they were back within 10 minutes.
Thankfully, NO appendicitis (first thought). Kidney stone IS still present, but has not moved. Have a severe kidney infection — from all of the inflammation related to this stone. Good antibiotics and pain meds for the next few days will hopefully kick this quickly.
We ARE on schedule for tomorrow’s triple header at Forest Park. We have been preparing for this for months. And look forward to seeing miner fans make the trek south.
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to Heidi, Tomi, Samantha, Brandi and Ashlyn for texting to check up while in the hospital. And to Cindy for keeping tabs until we got home.
How lucky are WE all that there is excellent patient care right here in Greene County 💚
