In Saturday's Journal:
EAST PALESTINE — For 59 years, Social Concerns has provided support to struggling families in and around the East Palestine community.
Now the charity, which got its start in Evelyn Stonemetz’ kitchen in 1966, needs the community to return the favor.
“Simply put, we need donations,” Barb Lynch said. “Our donations are down and we need money to continue what Evleyn started. We rely on donations to keep this going and continue to support the community of East Palestine.”

In Friday's Journal:
EAST PALESTINE — Phase 2 of East Palestine’s long-awaited park renovation is running on time and for the most-part on budget, with some work even ahead of schedule, Village Manager Antonio-Diaz Guy said last week as council prepares for major decisions on the project’s next stage.
“The park pool has been fully poured. That is the initial concrete coat,” Diaz-Guy said. “It will stay that way until spring when they come to do the final plaster and tile work. We hope to be under roof by the end of November for the new building and then all of the interior construction work.”

In Thursday's Journal:
LISBON — A limited number of trees are still available for fall planting through the village Shade Tree Commission, Mayor Peter Wilson announced this week.
Wilson said the trees must be planted in curb lawns — the grassy strip between the sidewalk and the street. For residents who live on streets without a curb lawn, trees may be planted near the roadway instead.
