~ TONIGHT, IT'S THE NAME GAME, FOR "TEAR-IT-UP TUESDAY! ~
Ok, it's not really so much a game, but just the plan, for tonight's show. Which is, Metal songs that feature people's names in their titles. Hey, what's up, kids? It's Kevin Smith, here, your Tuesday night host, on the world's "Mothership Of Metal", REBEL RADIO. I'm hoping you'll join me, this evening, from 7:00 PM 'til Midnight (Chicago Time), for a great show! I have, pretty thoroughly, pored over the music library, to find the best songs, for tonight's theme. Which again, will be heavy tunes featuring the names of people, as their titles. I've decided to split them up, by gender, since there are only two of them. And it's always ladies first, on the show, we'll start things right off, with some blocks of songs, written about, "the fairer s*x". Ladies like, "Abigail", "Charlotte", "Lucretia", "Judith" and a boatload more, will be paid tributes, via Metal music. After that, we move right on, to da' guys! That's where we'll have blocks of heavy tunes, about the gender which possesses that "XY Chromosome"! 😉 And taking a gander at the playlist, it looks like we'll be hearing from many of our favorite bands, throughout the whole night: Testament, Iron Maiden, Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage, Motörhead, Mastodon and a veritable host of others! ~ ON TONIGHT'S SHOW, IT'S A MILWAUKEE METALFEST PREVIEW! ~
Happy "Tear-It-Up-Tuesday", REBEL RADIO Family! It's Kevin Smith inviting you to hang out with me, this evening, from 7:00 PM until Midnight (U.S. Central Time) for a very special show. Since December of last year, the station has been running commercials for the annual event, "Milwaukee Metalfest". Well, that long-awaited bash is finally taking place this weekend; Friday through Sunday, June 5th, 6th and 7th, at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There will be about 70 bands playing, on multiple stages, over the 3-day fest. It's probably the main event of the year, if you're into Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. So, you should plan on going, if you don't have tickets, already! But for tonight's main feature, I've selected 10 bands, from each day of the Metalfest, and we'll be hearing some of their work, to sort of warm you up, for this weekend; which, by all indications, is going to kick ass! 🤘😆🤘 We'll get to that feature, right after we take care of a couple of items of business, first. Such as, some new releases to check out from: Flotsam & Jetsam, In This Moment, A Perfect Circle and a few more. Also, it's the first show of the month. Which, of course, means that we'll have the Album Of The Month, for June, tonight. What album is it? Well, for once, I'm not gonna tell you. You're just going to have to tune in, to find out! That's ONE (just one) specially-selected, kick ass Metal song, from each year, for the last half-century. We'll start off, with the year 1976, play one cranker from that year, and then move on, immediately to 1977. We'll keep repeating the process, one year and one song, at a time, until we arrive, all the way at this year. Covering 50 years of ass-kicking Metal! ~ 9 YEARS AGO, THIS WEEK (5/22/17), I STARTED AT REBEL RADIO! 😲 ~
Wow, that went fast! But, time always flies, when you're having fun, doesn't it? And I've definitely had fun, being a part of the team, at "The Hardest Station In The Nation", REBEL RADIO, and have been grateful, for the opportunity! So, thanks much, to Scott Davidson for that, and thanks, especially, to all of you, who listen, to this unique station! I'm fortunate to have a group of real, core listeners, who've stayed with me, throughout the years; and through the different nights that I've been on. First it was Mondays, then Saturdays, and now, for the last few years, it's been "Tear-It-Up-Tuesdays"! Hey, and guess what? That's what's happening, tonight! So, please hang out with me, Kevin Smith for the final five hours of today. Which would be 7:00 PM, until Midnight (Chicago Time). I think I've got a most entertaining show in store, for all-a' youz. Tonight's main feature is something I haven't done, for a few years. It's a series of double-doses, by bands, where the theme will be, "First Release / Latest Release". The first song of each double-dose will be from that band's debut release. And the 2nd will be their most brand-spankingest, newest stuff, to date. I think yer gonna love it! We'll also have a wealth of new music to check out, tonight. There's new Metal from Anthrax (first time in 10 years!), Pro-Pain, Primus, Deep Purple, Five Finger Death Punch and a few more. ~ IT'S "TEAR-IT-UP-TUESDAY", MY FAVORITE DAY OF THE WEEK! ~
Ain't it the truth, though? How's it going, kids? It's Kevin Smith, checking in with you, once again, to drop off your weekly invite, to join me, this evening, on the one-and-only REBEL RADIO! I'm slated to be your host, tonight, from 7:00 PM all the way until Midnight, Chicago time; and I think I've put together five hours-worth of high-quality heaviness, for you to bang your collective heads to! We'll get started, right at the top of the show, with a big nod to the top Industrial-Metal bands, around. I found a list that was put together, by Loudwire Magazine, listing the biggest bands, in that Industrial-Metal category. So, the show will start off, with the top bands, from that list. After that, we'll be heading into the REBEL RADIO time machine, and spiriting ourselves back, a full 41 years, to the year 1985, for an in-depth perusal of the awesome, and now classic, Metal released that year! Lots of it! 🤘😆🤘 Once we return to present day, there will be some new Metal waiting for us, to check out. New stuff from: Venom, Dust Bolt, Nonpoint, Jungle Rot, Lex Legion (consisting of former King Diamond band members), and more. There's lots of new music being released, in time for the Summer concert season - and I love it! More is planned for the show, as well.
