With drought conditions in place, wildfire danger will increase slightly as a cold front brings gustier winds Tuesday into Wednesday.

A brief shower or two is possible as the front moves through Wednesday morning, but it won’t be enough to improve drought conditions.

Our severe threat for southeast Arkansas looks much lower for Friday night... But a few showers and storms are still possible southeast of US 79.

Then we're smooth sailing into the weekend with more seasonable conditions.

An isolated strong storm may still be possible into the early overnight... But the risk is very very low.

As for Friday's risk, it will likely stay well to our southeast and not until after the sun sets.

The greatest risk for strong to severe storms will come Friday afternoon into the evening... But a few isolated storms could be strong on Thursday.

Even without thunderstorms on Thursday, wind gusts could reach 35-40 mph. Here's a closer look.

After a warm, dry start to next week... It appears our next chance for showers and storms returns into mid and late-week.

As of now, it looks like some could move in Wednesday night, continuing through much of your Thursday.

A few light showers return on Friday, especially into the afternoon across the northern tier of the state.

This is where temperatures will be much cooler, perhaps in the 40s and 50s. Southern Arkansas will be drier with highs in the 60s and 70s.

Temperatures turn mild again as we head into New Year's Eve... Slightly above average, in fact!

We'll be even warmer with highs in the lower 60s New Year's Day. But make no mistake, it will still be cold during the night with temps in the 30s.

12/30/2025

Temperatures turn a bit milder as we approach the new year!! Expect plenty of sunshine on New Year's Eve, then increasing clouds on New Year's Day.

But if you're heading out for any outdoor activities in the night, it will be cold w/ temps in the upper 30s/lower 40s.
